Medium-sized North American songbird of the Family Mimidae. Slate-grey bird with a dark cap and a long, dark tail. Rusty-brown patch under tail. These secretive birds are often found in dense shrubs and thickets. Known for their elaborate, varied songs interspersed with catlike 'mew' sounds.
